A new era
If you’re reading this, it means that my website has launched and I have announced a few other companion projects that I have been working on, including this blog. There is a lot of new and exciting things that I have been working on. I am eager (and nervous 😅) to share it all with you. Lately, I have been feeling like I needed to take what I do to the next level, so I am. Welcome to the official website of Muah Makeup Artistry, and welcome to my new blog, “The Beauty Breakdown”.
Before I go further, I would like to reintroduce myself. I’m Tattiana, A professional makeup artist, content creator, and educator based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have 10 years of beauty industry experience and 8 years of freelance experience. My signature style of makeup is what I like to call “Glamitorial”. It is a makeup style that I created, my signature blend of glam and editorial makeup techniques.
Through my artistry, I encourage people to show up as their most authentic selves through self-expression, to show that it’s okay to show up as authentically yourself and to not let societal expectations dictate how you show up in the world. Beauty standards are usually exclusionary and based in bigotry. I use makeup as a tool in order to combat that any way that I can. Makeup is art. Art disrupts. I disrupt the restricting confines of those beauty standards. If that resonates with you, I hope that you stay along for the ride.
I created this blog because I wanted to supplement the content that I create, and I also wanted to connect with my community through a new medium. The blog allows for me to expand on concepts that I mention in my content, to provide more nuanced information that may not have made it into my other content and to just share my thoughts about my journey and industry. That’s why I chose, “The Beauty Breakdown” as the name. If you want even more of a deep dive on some of my beauty content or you want to learn more about my thoughts in general, this is one of the places that you can get that type of content from.
I also recently launched my Youtube finally! That will be another place that will have more long-form content. I haven’t posted my first video yet, but if you are interested in subscribing to my channel, check it out here. I will also be revisiting and expanding upon topics that I cover in my short form videos, so stay tuned for that as well.
Thank you for all of your support. I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Although I’m nervous, I’m looking forward to trying and creating new things. I’m excited to grow and build a stronger community with you all. Stay up to date with everything by checking out my Instagram. Anything that’s going on will be announced there first. Stay tuned.
